Overview
Innovative group activity, focused on leadership and teaming, which uses
historic events and sites to stimulate interaction and the benefits of shared learning.
The programs can be conducted either on-location, outdoors on the sites where history-shaping
events occurred, or in conference room settings,
Focus
- Supporting enhanced team relationships and improved individual, or leadership,
effectiveness, the programming takes the decisions and actions of pivotal figures
in real-life dramas from the past and brings them into focus in the present as analogs
for leadership and team dynamics in contemporary business environments and situations

Method
- Grouped into small teams, participants are challenged to discover and utilize information
provided (and/or available online) in piecing together the fascinating stories of
central characters and their roles in shaping the outcomes of historic events.

As a direct relationship between leaders’ or teams’ actions and the results in these
history-making situations becomes apparent, participants are asked to describe the
parallels between the dynamics of the past and similar factors affecting leading
and teaming in their current work environment.
The Impact
The key lessons from this program are articulated explicitly by the participants
and implications for the workplace are recorded.
- These implications are in the form of strategies which can be applied to acknowledged
workplace challenges.
- Participants emerge with a common conceptual framework, a
vivid new language for discussing leadership and teaming issues, and a shared sense
of leverageable opportunities for improved effectiveness as individuals and teams.
TIME
REQUIRMENTS
-Most On-Location Programs can be delivered in four hours, but some
require six or eight hours depending on lodging and meeting location.

Site Programs can be delivered in four hours, but full day versions of each are
also available
